Institute for Creative Communication of Chinese Story (ICCCS) is jointly established by China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. On June 28, 2019, Du Zhanyuan, director of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, and Li Yuanyuan, president of Huazhong University of science and technology, unveiled ICCCS, which was officially established on November 13, 2019.

ICCCS has fully integrated the advantages of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration in government resources, international communication and the practice of telling Chinese story, as well as the talents, scientific researches and achievements of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in interdisciplinary fields such as journalism and communication, public relations, public management and foreign translation.

At present, ICCCS is mainly aimed at the evaluation of the national story works of “International Contest for Creative Communication of China Story”, the research on the evaluation index system of the Chinese good story, the training of talent teams for telling Chinese good stories, and the organization and evaluation of “International Contest for Creative Communication of China Story” at Hubei station. In the future, ICCCS will focus on theoretical researches, personnel training, social services and think tank construction of creative communication of China story, and actively carry out relevant researches and the achievement transformation of “telling a good Chinese story and spreading the voice of China” and enhancing China’s international discourse power and cultural soft power.

ICCCS is affiliated to Journalism and Information Communication School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Xu Xiaodong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and vice president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Yu Yunquan, president of Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, jointly serve as the director of ICCCS. Yang Xinhua, deputy editor-in-chief of China.com.cn, Hu Yanhua, administrative vice minister of propaganda department of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Zhang Mingxin, dean of Journalism and Information Communication School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, jointly serve as the vice director of ICCCS. Professor Chen Xianhong serves as the dean of ICCCS.
