On November 25th, the "2020 China Youth Daily 6th Summer Practice Team Offline Exchange Meeting for Finding National Top 100 College Students"was held in Zhuhai College of Jilin University, and this event washosted by China Youth Daily.The team--"Tell the Story ofHUST'sfight againstCOVID-19"organized by the School of Journalism and Information Communication and the First ClinicalSchoolofHUST wonthe title of "Best Practice Team".Among all the participants around the country, only ten teamswon this honor.

At the exchange meeting, Fan Wenyu,Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Journalism and Information Communication,exchanged experience with attendees.She shared the details behind the honour from three topics, that is"telling the story ofHUST’smedical staff against the epidemic", "telling the story ofpeople in the media businessfighting againstCOVID-19", and "telling the story of our school's outstandingalumnusagainst the epidemic".

In her sharing, she mentioned that thefight against COVID-19breeds a great spirit, andthis spiritneeds to be told and spread.She emphasized that “It is very important to tell stories and tell good stories”“not only teachers tell them, but also organize students to tellstoriesby themselves”and we should make full use ofthe effect of social practice of "threewideeducation", guide students to find problems, analyze problems,ponderproblems, and write essaysfor themotherland.

It is reported that the summer social practice team of "Telling the Story ofHUST'sfight against COVID-19" consists of 109 members from the School of Journalism and the First ClinicalSchool.In the context of epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic,students majoring in journalismtalkedwithpeople working for media agencieswhilestudentsmajoring in medicineinterviewedMedical staffon the spot.Besides,studentsfrom HUSTsearched for alumni associations andalumnusfrom varioussources. Through one-on-one interviews,studentslearned about theimpressivestoriesof theepidemicin depthandexperiencedthestrong work ethicofthose staff.Morenotably,manystudents were inspired by the spirit ofalumnuswhocoming forward at the critical moment,showing solidarityand overcoming the difficulties togetherto love our university.

At the end of the activity, theteam interviewed 48 people andfinished26articles whichcontain more than70,000 words.In addition, 2research reports and 8 short videoswerecompleted. Besides, the art form of the works was used to reproduce theendeavorof Global Alumni Associationof HUST’s fight against COVID-19, and uploadedthe work to the orange light game platform. The practice teamspared no efforts totell storiesofChina and HUSTinthe fight against COVID-19bydiggingout the touching stories on the front line of thepandemic.

It isknownthat the exchange meeting also invited staff from the interview record of "Xi Jinping and Friends of College Students" to have a dialogue withfacultyfrom universities across the country to discuss their experience and insights in social practice.
